I first heard this music as a young child of 8 years when my late mum took myself and my brother

to see the film called 'Carmen Jones' in Perry Barr Birmingham which used Bizet's music and

starred a black actress called Dorothy Dandridge,

a wonderful actress who died at a young age from an overdose

of barbiturates and alcohol with just 2 dollars to her name.

Dorothy's real life
